In reality, a dragoon is a member of a European military unit which is trained and armed to fight mounted or on foot. The term dragoon is also used to harass or persecute individuals, and probably to manipulate or influence them.

However the term to many game fanatics has been seen in such games as Legend of the Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon and much more, especially including Final Fantasy.

The dragoon has been represented in many video games as a person who has some kind of relatioship with dragons or lizards, a tall lean person who is well adapted to using weapons like spears, javelins, halberds, lancets, etc. Many characters such as Cid Highwind, Kain, Khimari and of course, Freya. All of these characters used weapons that were long with sharp ends. They also have the keen ability, or limit breaks to jump high in the air and come crashing down on the foe with great force.
